For so many years we have seen so lots of companies put their marking dollars into radio ads and then more into TV ads. We are in a new era and the market has shifted. The days of attention to the television has now shifted to the phone and tablet. Out with the radio and in with Pandora. Out with the Television and in with Netflix or Hulu. Out with the home computer and in with the phone or tablet.
There really is nothing you cannot do with your phone or tablet these days. Heck, I am typing this blog post on my phone at 3am in the comfort of my bed. I can check and answer emails, place work orders, have Skype meetings with other staff, order lunch, buy concert tickets and even do my taxes. Still waiting on a new app that will bring me a beer, when needed.
Most companies have changed their marketing campaign slogans just a bit to mesh with the social media world. Just remove the spaces and add a hashtag and you are done. This works out perfectly for promotional handouts to your clients of this generation. Just add those #InsertCompanySlogan on all your products with your main logo to drive more traffic to your media. Make them engage with you socially. You can also just add your Social Media handle to the products as well (@CompanyName).
Nothing will ever beat face to face marketing, but with “attention” becoming the new king of the hill, make sure you are using social media to its fullest to gain and keep your potential and current clients.
